Music Monday // Foxygen

I left my love in San Francisco // That’s okay, I was bored anyway

I’ve decided I’d like to spend a little time each Monday talking about music. Maybe I’ll create a playlist, maybe I’ll just offer a song, album, or artist recommendation, and sometimes, perhaps, we can delve into an entire genre – look at its history and pick out our favourite tracks. Today, I’d like to introduce you to the song San Francisco by Foxygen. I’ve been listening to it obsessively since my friend Meagan played it for me over the winter. She’s my go-to gal for all of the latest and greatest in the world of indie rock.

There’s something charming and a little bit sad about this simple melody and its story of lost love and the broken parts inside all of us. Plus, the quirky video looks like it could have been pulled out of a Wes Anderson film.

What have you been listening to lately? I’d love to hear!
