Last night was another adventure with the amazing Xandra (what am I going to do when she goes back to America?!) This time it was for an evening of swing dancing with kingsXswing at Drink, Shop & Do. Full details on that in Saturday’s post.
To get into the swing of things (oooh, bad pun!), I put on a few of my favourite pieces, complete with a swishy crinoline. I felt a bit overdressed at work but I have to say, I think these are my favourite outfit photos on the blog so far. And I like the idea of looking a bit glam during my day-to-day. So as a teaser of the night’s events, take a look at what I wore…
I’m wearing a vintage alphabet headscarf; a 1940s vintage sailor dress; a vintage wool cardigan; a vintage crinoline skirt; tights from Ardene; the Glamtique Roadshoe flats and a vintage locket.
As you can see, my purple locks have been transformed to turquoise – mostly, anyway. The dye didn’t take in a few places so I’ve got some fiddling around and touching up to do. I used Bleach London’s Washed Up Mermaid (great name!) and based on the swatch, I was expecting a much more muted shade. I was a bit shocked at how vibrant it came out, but I’ve got to say, it’s really grown on me and I’m quite smitten with it now.
What do you think?
