Cazz’s blog is a colourful celebration of nerdiness in the best sense of the word. She’s a fellow love of the technicolour tresses and a beacon of positivity on this here interwebs. Today she’s here to share her amazing collection of tattoos; take it away, Cazz!

How old were you when you got your first tattoo? 21. It’s a fairy drawn by Brian Froud, character designer for one of my all time favourite movies, The Labyrinth. I had planned my first tattoo since I was 13 years old. I knew exactly the piece of art I wanted on me and did not get it tattooed until I found the right artist.

cazz3How many tattoos do you have now? : Over 10, plus my full sleeve. None are simply stamped, I’ve made sure that all pieces are an intricate puzzle in which I’ve planned meticulously over the years.

cazzWhat’s the story of your Disney tattoo? : From when I was a little girl I have been preparing for my Disney sleeve. I remember being terrified of Ursala as she stole Ariel’s voice, falling in love with Gaston as he juggled eggs and crying at the death of Snow White. I have been collecting children’s books and researching tattoo artists for longer than I can remember. Disney is a universal symbol of happiness and gives hope that when you wish upon a star your dreams come true. I was lucky enough to have Chris Rushmore agree to be my artist and I am extremely proud to have his art on me. 25hrs down, over 30 to go.

cazz2Tattoos are a permanent reminder of what is important to you. They should have as much effort and thought put into them as buying a house, after all they are the only things you can take in the grave when you die. In short, choosing the right art and tattoo artist is crucial. In the words of Walt Disney, “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.”

You can follow Cazz on Facebook, and YouTube, and be sure to check out her amazing Etsy shop.
