Tattoo Talk: An Interview with Sarah Morgan

Sarah Morgan, 30, web designer, writer, blogging consultant, circus performer, teacher

Sarah is one of my favourite bloggers. Formerly writing at SillyGrrl, she recently rebranded as xoSarah, but she’s still sharing the same inspiring content. She’s a fantastic resource if you’re interested in transitioning to a freelance career, improving your blog, learning web design tricks, or running away with the circus (seriously!) Perhaps a lesser known fact is that Sarah has a killer collection of tattoos and she kindly agreed to share some of her thoughts on body art with us.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo? What was it? I got “On with the show” tattooed on the inside of my arm when I was 23I really went for a painful spot on for my first time.

How many tattoos do you have now? Any favourites? I have six currently and I love them all equally

xosarah-tattoo3What are your thoughts on tattoo regret? Have you ever had any? No regrets so far. I’ve got plenty of skin to cover, so if I ended up with something I didn’t love after a few years, I’d just get something else. My tattoos are like milestones of who I was and what I was doing when I got them.

Do you think tattoos need to have a special meaning or can they be purely aesthetic? I have one that has a lot of meaning, two that have some meaning, and three that I got with girlfriends that just remind me of being a silly impulsive 20-something.

xosarah-tattoo4Which tattooists would you most like to be tattooed by and why? I’d love to get a piece by Silje Hagland. I love her aesthetic and she seems like a cool person to spend a few hours with.

What does being a tattooed person mean to you? It means I’m often asked what the ice cream on my arm represents :) (nothing…it’s an ice cream) I don’t hold being tattooed as any defining part of who I am. I just like the way they look and I like cementing my memories. It’s the only thing I’ll spend money on that I’ll keep until I die.

Thanks so much, Sarah! For more from this multi-talented, tattooed blogger be sure to check out her new eBook Double Your Blog Traffic in 90 Days (I’m absolutely loving it!) follow her on Twitter.

  2. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote
the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to
drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog.

A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
